How the math works
Base system cost is keyed to your mitigation method — sub-slab depressurization is the most common ($800-$2,500), block-wall is premium specialty ($1,500-$4,500). Foundation type adjusts that base: crawl space adds 25%, mixed basement + crawl is 1.5×. Each 1,000 sqft above 1,500 adds ~15% to system size. Each 1 pCi/L above the EPA action level adds 5% to the multiplier. State cost factor is calibrated from BLS HVAC wage data + AARST-published regional rate cards.
